Penguins And Lakers New Champions

June 15, 2009

Since it is well worth mentioning, there were two major championships handed out this weekend.  The Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup defeating the defending champion Detriot Redwings in 7 games.  I love this story because it was great to see the best hockey player in the world get his first Stanley Cup, and continue to keep his young career off to a bang.  Sid the Kid is amazing and I wonder how much longer they will call him Sid the Kid.  But I watched the whole game, it was fast paced.  And it was simply amazing.  There were a couple of tense moments near the end of the game, like Detriot scoring a goal and making it a one goal game.  And then a puck off the cross bar.  It was great though.

Now last night there were was a boring game last night in the NBA, actually it wasn’t quite bad, but I don’t like Kobe Bryant.  He may be good, but he isn’t that good.  He isn’t Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, or even Lebron James.  One guy that I have come to like out of it all is Dwight Howard. Man that guy can jump.  At the All Star Game a few months ago he set up at 12 foot basket and he dunked in it so easy he could have set up at 14 foot I’m sure.  So in case you have noticed the Lakers did win the NBA championship, and last night in LA, there were riots, and fires, and stolen goods.  It’s crazy how stupid people get.  So for now until 2010 when the Spurs win, I will end my recap of the worst final in recent memory (because the Lakers won, and I don’t like them. I would have given a better recap if it were the Orlando Magic, they would have deserved it).

Tattoos

June 12, 2009

Recently my wife and I got tattoos done.  I’ve always wanted one, so I knew what I would get should I get one one day.  Mine is Superman logo.  I know it seems a bit geeky, or childish.  But I have always liked Superman since I was a young lad.  I actually have a Superman phone that rings with the music, a 3′ action figure, a kyte, a placemat, a poster, a bank, a small action figure, a watch, a pillow, lip gloss, a necklace, a hat, and now my tattoo.  Great job by Joel took 2 Hours it’s really sweet.

My wifes tattoo took 2.5 hours.  It’s sweet too.  Check it out below.

You can check out more of Joels work at.

Crazy Cubicle New Era

June 5, 2009
New Cubicle Artwork For Podcasts

New Cubicle Artwork For Podcasts

It’s been a while since I posted last.  Lots have changed since then, and I would like to keep it all up.  Problem is that there are 3 areas of the web to check out the crazy cubicle.  And for now it will have to remain that way until I can get them all together.  So for now I am going to update you on the new ways to check out the crazy cubicle.

New Podcasts

Podcasts are available, and I love the fact that iTunes is so easy to use.  You can check it out on iTunes, and there should be a new podcast there weekly.  All you have to do is search crazycubicle and it will show up.  Or you can click here -> http://crazycubicle.podbean.com and you can subscribe to the feed there.  That is the other location of the podcasts as that is where I am hosting it.

I am looking to bring the crazy cubicle to more areas of the internet then porn resides in.  Okay that is an impossible task.  However I am just working with these 3 areas to bring you more cubicle.  I am working on podcasts at a rate of about one a week.  I am looking to get one out within the next day (possibly today).  So keep looking, and check out my new art work.  I drew it myself, scanned, and adjusted just for you.

Fridayzzzzzz

February 20, 2009

Yesterday was pretty uneventful, if you think working 12 hours straight being uneventful.  I wake up really early and hit the gym.  I should do this all the time, and most times I have to beat myself to get up to go do it.  If I honestly had to do it for myself I don’t think I could.  But I made a promise to my wife, and kids that I would.  And I have to keep that promise as a husband and father.  I have to be honest.  I can’t believe how far I have let myself go.  But it is a long road back, and I am going to take it.

Anyhow yesterday was kind of neat.  I will take the Piqued road, and make it so that no one knows who I am (except a few), and change the names in the stories.  I am at a place in Northern Sask, that is all I can say about that.  I am working at a mine.  There is another engineer who is from the same town as I am, I will be calling him Benjamin Grimm.   There is also Kid Rock, and Red Bull.  For now most of my day yesterday was with Kid Rock, and Red Bull.  Kid Rock works well for him, he is the youngest, looks sorta like Kid Rock, and is from NFLD (Newfoundland).  Red Bull is from Sask, he is a native Indian.  And an all around great guy.  We spend the day playing with a sonar machine.  It was really quite fun.  Then I met Red Bulls cross shift who I will call….well actually give me a day on that one, I haven’t quite thought it out yet.  Well I am off to work again, its 6:34 local time, and I hate the time shift.  I would be at work already in Sudbury and when these guys still have 4 hours left in their day, I am usually done.  I can’t wait for days like that.

First Full Day At Site

February 19, 2009

Today is the first full day of me out at site.  Emotionally I am just not all here.  I am still at home with my lovely wife.  I really hate being away from her.  She is just that good baby.  Anyhow, I actually hated the flight yesterday.  And if that pilot is an indication of the class of pilot that this aviation company hires to fly people around, it’s no wonder that they are soley contracted out to the company that brings all of us here.  You get spoiled flying on big commercial airlines like Air Canada, it’s still nerve racking, but at least when you are landing you aren’t wondering if you are taking your final breaths in this life.  Now I am not kidding, I am an ok passenger on a plane.  I am not too nervous, but I am a little nervous.  I don’t go crazy and I don’t need medication, however I could have used some yesterday.  Here I am enjoying my flight, and takeoff and air was good.   Service was way better on this plane then the bigger ones.  However we get to our first stop on the way to the mine, and as we are landing I am feeling the plane pitching left and right, and turning to hit the runway.  Now I am no professional, but I could land that thing a lot better than that.  I gritted my teeth fearing the worst, and nothing happened.  However the slamming on of the brakes didn’t lessen my fear too much.  We took off again, and we had another stop, this landing was a little bit better.  The last take off was good.  And then we flew off to the mine site.  We are in the air for about 45 mins for this flight, in total the whole flight (which was delayed for 45 mins) took about 2 hours.  Last approach, and pitchy, fuck I thought that it was the end.  That we are going down, and my wife will get a call saying I am now runway splatter.  Totally not cool, but to my surprise the handicapped pilot landed the small ATR on the big runway.

I spent the rest of the day in training, and then crashed early this time, it was about 9 o’clock SASK time, but 10pm my regular time.  This morning I was up at 4 am local time so I don’t throw off my clock.  I hit the gym for the first time in ever, but it felt good.  Breakfast was great.  Now I am in my room for my first full 12 hour shift.  I wish I could sleep, I found out recently that I have sleep apnea, and I will need a machine for sleeping.  Which should give me more energy, and possibly help with losing weight.  So when I am at home I get to go for that test.  Anyhow I am off to work, hopefully I get to post this sometime today.

Leaving Tomorrow

February 16, 2009

Well, the time is here for me to fly away half way across the country.  I don’t know what it’s like really to wonder what it would be like to live in a small country.  Canada is quite big, really when you think about it, it’s like from China to the UK it’s really huge.  And it’s all ours.  So it’s like I am flying from somewhere in the east like say southern russia, and ending up in western / northern russia, it’s quite large.  Anyhow I am going to work at a uranium mine for a little bit, it should be fun, I will keep you posted.

Small post today as it is family day a holiday in Ontario, check ya all later.

The Arctic

February 6, 2009

So I’ve not had any time to blog, and next week doesn’t look promising either.  As it turns out on the 17th I am heading out to Saskatoon, then North of 60.  I will be on a 2 week in 2 week off rotation.  And the summer time in my beautiful city will be warm, I will be freezing my balls off.  However I will be taking this time to use the beautiful facilities at the mine I will be going to, and getting in shape.  So it will / should be good for that very reason.  However I will miss my wife, and kids.  That is the hardest part, and I know that will be hard the first flight out.  She will have a hard time to drive home after that.

I guess the hardest part about being away for such a time is feeling alone, and seperated.  It sucks, and really is hard on any kind of relationship.  However (and this is mushy yes), love will keep us strong.

Short one today, and all week as I have to head out to another mine site, and have some fun doing the JHSC stuff that I need to do.  Should be fun, YEAH!!!

Uvula

January 26, 2009

Thursday night is the reason I hadn’t posted on Friday.  I went for a sleep test on Thursday night at the hospital.  The wires they hookup to you make you feel like you are invovled in alien abduction investigations or something of that nature.  So you have to sleep whilst having 100 cables running from various parts of your body (I’m actually suprised they didn’t hook them up to my balls).  Anyhow now you have to sleep with all these foriegn bodies on your body.  And in a cold room, air conditioned (in the winter no less).  I woke up and checked for my balls which in their bid to keep warm retreated for the evening.  But the worst part is that my uvula was swollen.  No word of a lie.  It was huge.  This has happend before, most times when I had to sleep on my back, but not this bad.  Anyhow the long story short is that it’s still a bit swollen on Monday morning.

Onto other news, I am still gearing up towards my first pod-cast.  Once it is out, I will let you know.

Looks like the Pope has irritated some Jews.  The Nazi claims there were no Jews killed by Nazi gas chambers.  Fucking liar……we all know they were you bastard.  You’re evil, and you made Pope John Paul II cry.

More Obama (Last Until I Post a Podcast)

January 22, 2009

I am still working towards making my first podcast.  As it turns out I have some really good people that are going to help me.  First off before I even get the help, I just wanted to thank Nick Tann.  He is going to take some time and explain the ins and outs of the podcast.  It will be fun, he has a great Podcast that if you look up Nick Tann “Is this thing on?” on Itunes you will find his podcast, and I find it very good.  So hopefully you like it, he features independent music artists, and they are good.  Nick also has some very funny adverts that I find absolutely funny.  Anyhow enough about Nick for now.  I also am going to get some help from a local boy (well local now).  Luke Nugent from a radio station http://www.kicx917.com/ is going to help me put together some stuff.  I got to know Luke through the daily call ins to the radio station, I can be heard some mornings as I always have something to say.  But no worries, you will get to hear my voice soon enough on Podcast.  I will take a funny look at some news, and other things that I find funny.  And to cap it off, I will be going over my favorite music of the week.  And hopefully (with permission) feature some music from some of the independents that Nick does, I’ve been quite impressed.

Okay so now onto my Obama news.  Turns out the Chief Justice flubbed the Oath of Office, and really they couldn’t let that stand, so they re-did it yesterday.  I will post what is on CNN.

The Constitution sets out the language that should be used in the oath: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Roberts moved the word “faithfully” back nine spots, and used “to” instead of “of.” That threw the president off base, and he smiled and paused to collect his thoughts, then decided to follow Roberts’ lead.

But the chief justice at the same time attempted to correct himself.

Here’s how Tuesday’s oath went:

Roberts: … that I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully …

Obama: … that I will execute …

Roberts: … the off — faithfully the pres — the office of president of the United States …

Obama (at the same time): … the office of president of the United States faithfully …

The two got the rest correct, including the nonobligatory “So help you God?” “So help me God.”

So was Obama really President?  Was it done on purpose? Who knows in any case, America it seems can’t do anything right.  Hopefully Obama can.

I Wish I Come Up With A Funny Title

January 21, 2009

Barack Obama, what a sight to see him inaugurated into the White House.  It was a great thing, people were watching all over the world.  I think Canadians took great interest in this one (even more than our own election, which is true).  I know from my side of things, I was glad to see him.  It’s about time they have someone intelligent.  I seen a concert they held yesterday.  There were some good acts, even Stevie Wonder was there (poor old chap the only guy to officially be there and not see him).  There were other guests, Garth Brooks, Usher, Shakira, Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, and U2.  I can’t stand U2, I really can’t and I was really wishing I had a gun to shoot myself.  They are terrible on albums, and they are terrible live.  I tried to like them, I really did, I just can’t so there.

Anyhow shorter post today as I have lots of work to do.  However there will be some comedic relief soon, as I will be working towards making my first Podcast in the near future.  I am calling it……something I am not sure about that yet, however I will be thinking of it before February 1st as that will be the first one ever.  I can’t wait…I will post linkies to it, and hopefully have it available in Itunes as well.
